This place is small but they have everything you need for homebrewing and some wine supplies as well. I received a brew kit from here and have been going back since. The guy I spoke with the first time (carson) I was there was very friendly and approachable and was a great deal of help for a beginner brewer like myself. They a good selection of hops both whole and pellets as well as a nice selection of yeast and grains. From corny setups all the way down - they seem to have everything. They also do brewing classes free of charge about every 3 weeks. Its definitely worth the 30 min drive for me.

This is the closest HomeBrew Shop to me and I have no complaints about it. It is a small shop but the layout makes everything you need relatively easy to find. The grain selection is good and they have a nice selection of hops in both pellet and whole form. I can't really comment on the service because I always know exactly what I want when I go in, but I have seen them help customers who had questions before and it seemed professional. The prices are reatively low, which is why I prefer coming here rather than buying online since I never buy enough for free shipping.

Osheas and Steinfillers are the 2 closest LHBS to my house and I personally prefer Steinfillers by far. They have a nowledgable and friendly staff who are willing to go the extra mile. Stop by and talk beer or whatever and you can easily burn an hour or two before you know it. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a good selection of grains, hops, yeast, etc. Just an overall good store to have within driving distance. I'd highly recommend this store to anyone. They may not have the best selection of hardware goods, but if you call ahead they can order it for you.

My favorite brew supply. They have great selection a beer ingredient kits. I have brewed the steam, Belgian whit,imperial stout,pale ale, and the IPA. I found them to be complete and easy to brew for the experienced brewer. They have a good supply of hardware as well. I haven't tried the wine kits yet but did make some Saki with some yeast I got there. The hours are convenient and the staff knowledgeable. They also have information about the Long Beach Home brewers Club. A great club with a Yahoo group, check it out.
