Vaguely remember the label, at that time my wife really liked Porters and Stouts as I was just so-so on them, so I probably sampled hers.

Deep brown, almost black, with garnet highlights. Smooth and creamy looking tan foam with moderate lacing.
Roasted grain, burnt toast, and a little chocolate make up the aroma.
Flavor follows with a mineral water or iron like flavor. Chocolate, toast, and a little blackberry sweetness. Has a bit of a weedy after taste too.
Bittere by the toasted grains but still remains close to balanced. Had a very dry end with a lighter body overall.
A strong example of a classic Porter. Cheers.

Part of a variety 12-pack Foodland $13.99
Smell of chocolate, roasted malts
Dark black color
Heavy mouthfeel
Medium carbonation
Roasted malt flavors, thinner tasting than expected
Overall just ok. The llok and smell makes it seem promising, but the flavors are thinner and don't meet the expectations.

From notes taken 03/11/17:
Seems rather opaque, dark brown to black. Deep-hued red around the edges. Creamy, foamy, orange-brown desert mud colored head with excellent retention. Abundant lace taking the form of 3 or so solid ringlets. Perfect roastiness, light tobacco and some soil but not much else, weakens fast. Palate is a lot more robust, as the label states. Just packed with roasty, smoky-tart character right on through to the finish, swaying neither toward toffee on the sweet side nor beyond pipe smoke on the burnt side, though there’s a nice showing of dank, leathery hops. Retro-olfaction is smoked wood and soil but also both peppery and strangely fruity/spicy, not quite licorice, not quite cinnamon, but reminds me of both. Aftertaste is a lingering bitterness which is just a tad much. Medium-bodied and sloshy, carbonation is sharp and prickly but sparse at first yet it seems almost nitrous by the finish. Fairly warming and more than mildly astringent. Overall, mouthfeel is about what one should hope for in this style.

Very pretty beer. Good head great lacing.
Tastes like over steeped coffee from a French press and dark chocolate. Burnt taste lingers.
An appropriately robust texture.
Overall good but not great. Would try again.

Pours from the bottle opaque and nearly black with a huge tan head that fades to a thick ring on top and leaves thick strands of lace. The smell is eqal parts cocoa and coffee with earthy accents. The taste follows with cocoa, coffee and a subtle bitter finish. Medium in texture and well balanced overall.

12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.
Pitch black liquid, three fingers off light tan head. Roasty nose with suggestions of coffee, light molasses, chicory, and cocoa powder. Smooth roasty palate, semi-chewy medium body. Faint charcoal among undertones of coffee and chocolate. Robust but easy drinking. A very well put together Robust Porter.

Enjoyed, free, on my Alaska Airlines flight to Seattle, it pours black, with a dark fizzy head. The requisite Porter flavors are all here - roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate. There is just enough hop bittering to nicely round out the experience. Overall, a very enjoyable brew!

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.
Deep dark walnut brown and nearly black, but fairly clear as well. Nice excellent cascading and fist full controlled booming head. Tan light with soapy retention and lots of staying power. Excellent looking brew.
Really nice porter nose. Light char, but with an excellent airy milk chocolate note. Thick and rich with a nice milky tone and excellent hint of sweetness to go with it. Quite inviting, and practically feels like you could bite right down into it. Very nice.
Palate is quite nice as well. An interesting mix as the porter angle goes for nice light character, but has plenty of roasty tones. Finish is real interesting with lots of lingering mocha chocolate thickness and a touch of sweet air. Mouthfeel is actually quite prickly, with a noticeable hop angle that gets into slight woody pine. Malt chocolate is also kind of molasses and carob notes, like a husky cocoa nib or shell, giving to earth and soil bent flavors.
This is a really nice memorable porter.
