On tap at the Horse Brass Pub. Deep red color. Smallish head. Aroma is molasses and sweet. A very full-bodied bock. Malts are dark fruit, molasses and very sweet. Hops are slightly spicy. Extremely smooth and very thick taste. Touch of oak, smoke and bourbon throughout. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

Drank on tap at the Widmer GastHaus in Portland, OR.

Slightly hazy deep amber in color, forming a thin beige head with poor retention and lacing. Aroma is of intense vanilla incense, sharp fermented cherry brandy, and lots of alcohol. Taste is also intense, with chewy raisins, figs, dates, and prunes all balanced by an earthy bitterness. Fumous alcohol is evident, which is almost too strong to become overbearing. Vanilla peeks in with whisky notes. This brew is very schizophrenic....nice at first, then intensely harsh. Cloying, cough syrupy mouthfeel with a dense body hampers it's drinkability. Wow...I don't quite know what to make of this, but it's interesting.
