Been sitting on this for 6 months hoping it would turn into something, let's see..
Pours copper with a pinky of cream colored head. Great lacing, average head retention
S: Bourbon. a little brown sugar & cakeyness
T: Bourbon, dates, pears, cakeyness & sourwood honey up front. Brown sugar & Bourbon as this warms, a little toffee, some honey as well. Finishes dry, sweet with honey, cakeyness, & a little Bourbon sourmash
MF: Chewy, low but assertive carbonation. Thins out once warm, but only a little, warming
Drinks easy for the style, has aged well. Glad I rolled the dice on this one

22oz bottle of Barrel Aged Brrrbon '11, acquired recently, but dated Nov 14 11. Served in pint glass; beer appears orange to red in color, and significantly hazy, with little head. Sweet aroma that always reminds me of apple juice (not in a good way). Flavor delivers on the promise of oaky bourbon barrels. Not overly sweet, but a little, and a little alcoholic, too. Age probably mellowed out this beer -- I'm guessing for the best. Unfortunately aroma and any other interesting flavors that may have been in here are rather lost. Still, totally drinkable for me, if not the most interesting application of bourbon barrels to malt beverage.
