Last of the series picked up at half price near the San Diego airport & hauled back in a suitcase brushing 50 lbs. 22 oz. bottle split with my wife.
The pour is pure floodwater, with enough dirty sediment to qualify for a flood erosion grant. It’s orange – who classified this as a black ale? Minimal carbonation. Aroma is about a negative 3 on the Richter scale: maybe some sweet malts, caramel, vanilla is the only thing I can actually pick out. Spare.
Gentlemen’s Club – Aged in Bourbon Barrels is a big whatnot of bourbon stink. Waves of bourbon get in my eyes & practically obscure whatever is holding up the barrels (maybe I understand the “black ale” classification now, well, except the color). Putting a horizontal drill under the barrel, there might be caramel, wood pops out, unvarnished alcohol, vanilla. There’s a harsh bite at the end that might be the cherries, or lemon; it’s not hoppy, but it is interesting. Half a bottle of this will be OK.
The least of the three variants, this one is also the heaviest on the barrel, though the fruits leaves a faint, if interesting, afterburn. Interesting. That’s the word that best describes this beer. Pretty good brew.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
