Replay features tropical, piney and citrus notes from the generous use of Chinook, Citra, Alchemy and the experimental X-431 hop varieties. The beer also utilizes wheat in the malt bill, true to Widmer Brothers’ form and a subtle nod to the brewery’s flagship Hefe, giving the beer balance and a velvety smoothness. Replay IPA is 4.5 percent ABV, allowing for extended enjoyment during long Oregon days and nights.

12 oz bottle from a 6 pack purchased at Fred Meyer in Salem $6.99 Pours clear lighter gold colour with huge frothy creamy white head Aromas..spicy/sherbet hops and a bit of biscuit malts. Taste mainly fruity hops. Orange peel. Some lemon zest and weak caramel malts. Mouthfeel is fine if rather unrefined. OK A quite average beer. Not great but I can drink it

Golden amber in color. Slightly hazy. Bubbly head with minimal lacing. Light body and highly carbonated. The aroma is light citrus, floral, fruit, yeast, and malt. The flavor is a bit yeasty and bread like. Some herbal notes as well. Kind of watery in the mouthfeel. Yeast and bitter hops in the aftertaste. Not one I would drink often.

Poured from 12 oz bottle to glass mug then enjoyed a second straight from the bottle. Both tries produced a very pleasant hop aroma that was not overly grassy. A light amber colour and frothy white head tastes of medium hoppiness with just a hint of citrus and a nice bread backbone. This is a very good session IPA. If you want to introduce someone to a IPA that is not overly hoppy this would be a good place to start.

This brew is in the league of a session IPA. I found this at a low price and figured I would try it out. I like this IPA very cold, like a pilsner or a lager because it is very light for an IPA, like most sessions. The hop flavors are on the lighter end and if you want to take a break from the high IBU trend going on this brew provides a nice relief, but cannot hang with the heavy hitters out there on the market.

Bottle from Albertsons. Light bodies , mild aroma and subdued taste, but it is a session IPA after all. Not a bad outing either, for a beer with wider distribution. Finish is a bit weak.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden amber color with a two finger head of pure white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the brew is heaviest of a fruity smell with a lot of citrus and harvest fruit smells. Along with these aromas comes some nice citrus hop and some earthy and floral hop aromas, which when mixed with some grain and bread, create a very inviting aroma overall.

Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter citrus and harvest fruit flavor mixed with some lighter bready tastes. While the hop is light upfront, it does gain strength as the taste advances over time. The hop flavors are largest of a citrus grapefruit flavor, but contain some notes of an herbal and light earthy taste as well. At the same time the hop is growing more intense, some grainy and haylike flavors also develop, and with a bit of a loss of some of the sweeter tastes, one is left with a somewhat fruity, but hopped, light and crisp flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the thinner and more watery side with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The lighter body was fantastic for the low abv with the more moderate carbonation still allowing for the hop and fruit to be well sensed on the tongue. Overall it was a rather enjoyable feel.

Overall – A fairly decent session IPA. Nothing out of the ordinary, but it does have a nice hop blend and is easy drinking, so it hits the category rather well.

Mostly clear dazzling light orange with rocky and foamy bright white head of medium retention. Lacing and legs are sparse but intricate. Smells of grapefruit, sweet orange, pine, and crackers. Not as easy to pick through in mouth, I'm afraid. Mostly I'm getting pasta-water and bitter citrus peel and light pine with a faint watered down orange note squeezed in between. Light black pepper in the retro-olfaction. Good, but nothing fancy. Lighter side, super-sudsy, semi-smooth, and crisp.

This isn't going to knock you off your feet, but these days it's nice to have an easy drinker once in a while. This beer delivers subtle, sweet hop aroma, a thin head that stays alive, balanced citrus and pine notes, and a noticeably smooth malt backbone due to the wheat. It was a great session IPA.

12oz : tulip pint

Clear golden with a foamy h=white head.

Juicy, fruity hop notes, light crackery malt backbone.

A delicious, sessionable IPA.
