I must admit, the Dortmunder Export style is one I have very little familiarity with. Widmers draught effort has an otherwise neutral smell that fails to overcome the residual aroma of dishwashing soaps. Whatever trace detergents may linger on the glass are insufficient to kill the lively, soapy head or deter the splotchy lace. Color shows filtered clarity in white oak.
This golden lager is clean tasting with a light malty emphasis of toasted grains. Its clean lines negate any appreciable character, but its not difficult to drink. Aside from the soapy glass, the beer itself earns no complaint from me.
