Pours a dark chocolate color with tan foamy head that clings to the glass. The smell is fantastic with a mix of coffee and chocolate flavors that are very strong... Reminds me of a chocolate covered espresso bean. The taste is very similar but the coffee aftertaste is strong. Finishes smooth... An amazing black porter.

This beer is a porter made with chocolate and pepper.
Appears black with a tan head.
It smells slightly of smoked malts, coffee, chocolate and pepper.
It tastes strongly of black pepper however the black pepper is nicely balanced by a smooth creamy chocolate and malt sweet taste. The beer is nicely balanced. I like the way that the pepper adds a bite to what would normally be a smooth chocolaty porter.
The carbonation is moderate low.
For being a pepper beer this is fairly easy to drink.
Overall this is a very good unique pepper porter. All the flavors seem to work with each other well.
