This beer enjoyed at the Widmer Gasthaus in Portland, OR. The beer is a combination of an IPA and a Hefeweizen... So basically a hoppy hefe. The beer pours a hazy golden color with a finger of foamy white head that retains a little and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma has the traditional wheat notes of fruit and spices, with an addition of citrusy hops. The taste starts with the traditional whet flavors of banana and spice and then finishes with some hoppy bitterness. The citrus hops also play a small role. The mouthfeel is very smooth and finishes clean. Overall a good unique beer.
