A 500ml bottle with a BB of Feb 2014. Acquired recently from a B&M store. The label describes it as a golden ale named after one of Dylan Thomas' most famous characters.
Poured into a straight pint glass. A light brownish-amber colour with faint haze and good carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before settling as a patchy surface layer. Some lacing. Aroma of biscuity malt with hints of grain, mild caramel, fruity ale yeast, grass/hay and faint floral hops. Dry and uninspired.
Tastes of grainy caramel malt with a dry finish. Notes of biscuits, grain, fruity ale yeast, grass/hay, earthiness and stewed leaves. Slightly sweet, followed by a leafy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with prickly carbonation and an insubstantial body. Rather astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of harsh stewed leaves, cardboard and earthy yeast.
Meh - a dull ale with little to recommend. Looks pretty good but this is its best feature. Aroma and flavour of biscuity malt, yeast and stewed leaves. Acrid hints in the background. So-so body. I can't say that I'd ever want to be bothered with this again. No need to seek it out.

Pours a golden color with a small white head that disappears quickly. Light carbonation and very light body. Citrus aroma, hoppy taste and also somewhat hoppy aftertaste. Is ok, but rather average I think.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a dimpled pint mug.
Pours a clear golden colour with pretty good lacing and a foamy white head.
Smells of biscuity malts - sweet and light. Just a touch of very weak hops.
Tastes of those malts, balanced with some hops too - sweet honey and grassy with a bit of a peppery bite. A soapy aspect to it as well.
Overall an okay beer. Quite a boring golden ale though - very conservative flavours and pretty quaffable.
