Served from tap into a shaker with caSSino in my company on his recent visit. Served from tap into a shaker. Poured a deep red-orange with a minimal off-white head. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, spices, earth, and earthy hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, spices, earth, fruit, and earthy hop. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Ovearll this was a decent brew. This brew really took the earthy characteristics and ran with it. The fruit was a nice touch on the flavor to balance out all of the earthiness going on. With that said, this could have been a great brew if some more sweeter flavors would have been implemented to cut the earthiness. Worth trying if you are by the brewpub and feeling like an Oktoberfest with your meal.

reviewed from notes i dug up tonight i believe this was one of the first if not the first new beer they made when jay left. served in a pint glass.
pour is a nice golden amber color with a hint of a darker shade towards the center and a definite nice head of white that peaked up on either side of the glass to about two inches and was supported by great carbonation. aroma is caramel, banana, hints of deep earthy malts and bready notes. a touch of light pear or apple comes through as it warms, unusual for the style but it works here. light body is more then well carbonated and carries the flavor. nice use of caramel malts to balance against a bit of a fruit hop character, again nicely done.
overall a solid beer, a little different for the style but very solid none the less.
