Isi-Bräu "Kellerbier"
,33l / 2,80€ at the brewery on 25.09.2017
Notes: Hazy golden body beneath a full head of fluffy white foam. Excellent head retention and lacing! Bright, fresh aroma of grainy malt and floral hops. The flavor also delivers the grainy malt that the nose suggests with just a touch of light caramel and honeyish character. The hops are a little different, however, being earthy, leafy, and lightly grassy. A moderate bitterness balances it and brings it to a dry but not particularly bitter finish with some earthy hops lingering. In the mouth it's medium to light-medium in body and remarkably smooth with a delicate, seemingly natural moderate carbonation. It might not be the most polished kellerbier that I've had on this trip to Bayern but it's certainly got more character than most, and easily the best head retention and lacing that I've seen so far. There's only one beer available here at Isi-Bräu but I feel it was worth the trip.
