Brewed for Wetherspoon 2013 Spring Festival by Kelly Ryan (of Good George Brewery) at Batemans. It's a Black IPA really!
Hand-pulled pint in my local Wetherspoon's on 8 Apr 2013. Looked good, a true mahogany brown with a full head of biege foam on top.
Mixed bag of smells: citrusy, yet woody with a coating of chocolate and liquorice, the taste isn't a long way from the aromas either. A few more hop notes in the mouth than the nose making it slightly bitter and dry towards the end of each sip. Interesting blend of flavours, but not my cup of tea.
