A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of June 2015. Picked up a while back from a B&M store. Brewed in celebration of the Dambusters squadron.
A: Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear golden colour with faint sediment and good carbonation. Forms a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before collapsing to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of mild malt with hints of stewed leaves, overdone veg, ale yeast and a whisper of grain. Not particularly impressive.
T: Tastes of light malt and leaves, with a mild bitter finish. Notes of husks, harsh stewed leaves, overcooked veggies, vague ale yeast and a touch of cardboard. Quite watery. Well-attenuated, followed by a subtle, leafy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is light, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a thin, insubstantial body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of harsh stewed leaves/cardboard and faint yeast.
O: Meh - not very nice. Looks OK, however the aroma and flavour are bland and plagued by unpleasant off-notes. Thin, watery body. Decidedly unenjoyable, and as Bevis has already pointed out the squadron deserve better. Give it a miss.

Though it's a bit old and in a clear bottle I couldn't imagine this was great fresh or even cask ad there is little aroma and the flavour is barely stewed hops , the squadron deserve better

This was brewed for the 70th Anniversary of 617 Sqn’s (RAF) Dambuster Raid.
Clear 500ml Bottle: BBD 30 Sep 2014. Poured into an 'Old Speckled Hen' badged vase shaped pint glass on 17 Aug 2013.
Light golden body, clear and clean looking. Thin white head with a thicker collar, carbonation bubble lines rising through the brew.
Sweet grain aroma, with slight lemon and maybe tropical fruit smell (the rear label mentions passion fruit and lychee), but I might have dreamt that.
Tasted like a shandy: sweet, fizzy and lemony with very little hop or malt presence. Very disappointing, the mission failed for me.
Not my favourite Batemans brew: maybe I'm not picking up subtle or delicate flavours, but this isn't doing it for me at all. I've got another 3 bottles of it too!
