FILLED ON 07/15/24. Served in a glass tumbler. BEST BY 11/19/24 on outside of package.
A: Hazy peach – gold hue with 1–2 finger frothy white head with average retention and rings of lacing.
S: Aroma is light with berry and melon hop notes coupled with garden-variety pale 2 – row maltiness. Esters are low – medium and slightly fruity.
T: Flavor is also light and intensity with some peach and Berry solid pale malt qualities. Bitterness is low. Esters are Light and fruity overall.
M: Feel is also very light in body with even carbonation and a lightly dry finish.
O: Overall, Daycation is A bit underwhelming, but would be easy to drink in volume on a nice spring or summer day.

Poured from a can into an IPA glass.
Look: Golden orange with a thick off-white head. Fair retention.
Smell: Dry hop aroma. Juicy but also a little bit of a pine note. A light malt character in the background. A bit vegital. It has a fairly strong nose.
Taste: Moderate dry hop flavor that fades into a sweeter maltyness. A little juicy or fruity again, as well as that vegital quality. The taste is less intense than the nose, but not necessarily any worse.
Feel: Light to medium bodied. Lightly refreshing. Ok carbonation.
Overall: There's plenty to enjoy in this beer.

12oz can into a pint glass. Canned 6/24/22, so 2 months old.
Looks pretty good. Faintly hazy golden yellow body. Small white head shrinks to a ring and covering, scattered lacing.
Pleasing floral hoppy aroma.
Taste does not follow the nose. Faint floral notes to be sure, but the bitterness level is higher than expected, becoming the dominant feature.
Mouth closer to full than medium, finish quite bitter which becomes drying.
Overall, a nice enough beer, but the bitterness level is higher than I would like in a session beer.

Appearance: Pours a hewn hay hue, hazy with an initially lofty, near white head.
Smell: A little bit tropical, lightly floral hop blend with soft underbelly of rustic, raw grains.
Taste: Not altogether bursting with hop flavor, but it's sufficiently hoppy, tasting of lightly spiced melon water, gooseberry, peppered pear, florals and pine. Its maltiness is also slender, delivering some graininess, a hint of cracker dough and, again, some of that coarse graininess akin to a sprinkling of rolled/flaked oats, unmalted what-have-you or whatever else they had a partial grain bag of that week. Smooth, faintly creamy mouthfeel alongside the dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-soft carbonation. A bit of cushiony fluff to round out the mouthfeel.
Overall: Session? Sessionable IPA?! I understand re-tooling a printed can, given the purchase order lead time and MOQ is a bit of a hassle, but I believe the correct, current wordage is "Low-Cal IPA." Unless that's already become passé, too.

PACKAGED ON DATED CAN! pours a perfect lively golden body and 1 inch plus dense white head that hangs around for the duration. The smell is fragrant hoppy freshness; floral, greenery and enticing. I've been enjoying this beer in rotation since attending the original release party day at Highland. It's only gotten better over time. Lots of lacing left behind as it goes down easily.
Taste is a brief citrus, light malt sweetness that transforms into hoppy brightness and a light bitterness, and then a clean ending. Very very good. Perfect mouthfeel and very enjoyable overall.
If there is a better session IPA, I'm interested. Highland is the brewery that gets overlooked by some who don't know the history of Asheville, NC craft beer. They were the first! -and have demonstrated top quality brewing and drinkability, not just hype before the rest of the scene came into AVL. Highly recommended for those who like bright chuggable ipa beers made by seasoned pros.

Hazy orange color. Scent of lemon and orange. Nice bitterness but lack of fruit leaves the beer flat. Overall nice bite mixed with mild fruit gives this beer a mid range finish
