From the brewery: A cold infusion of 1/4 lb. Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans and freshly roasted coffee from Dynamite Roasting Co. contribute bitterness, roast and richness to this golden colored ale, while a grain bill of 12% oats lends a round, stout-like mouthfeel. The finish is silky and bitter, reminiscent of chocolate-covered espresso beans.
Highland calls this a golden stout. This looks like a wheat beer, but tastes like a great porter. The mouthfeel is as described by the brewery. I hope Highland brings this beer back again for future small batches.
