A silky rye body carries memories of freshly baked bread, figs, and milk chocolate.

Never before had a rye stout, and previous most favorite beer was a Highland Black Mocha Stout. But Highland brewed a 'small batch' stout that is ONLY available at its Asheville, NC brewery--and it completely--blew my mind!

Soft, smooth notes of perfectly blended proportions of coffee, chocolate and bourbon rested well across my tongue and rolled down my throat with zero aftertaste of any bitterness. Very well rounded and completely enjoyable. After two pints, I STILL wanted another.

What a downright shame to NOT be available retail. I found the perfect beer while traveling out of state--and I cannot buy it at home.

You MUST try it, if you're a porter or stout drinker, and within an hour of their brewery.
