Appearance: Arrives a clear mahogany color with a nice head that leaves a copious amount of lacing

Smell: Caramel and spice cake elements with a strong vanilla tone

Taste: Spice cake forward with caramel and vanilla underpinning; modest spruce pine hops in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Pumping up the spices and vanilla really emphasizes the unique flavors here and I like the bitterness in the finish

A friend from our neighborhood tasting group picked up a crowler a few weeks back from the Asheville production brewery. Sampled on 12-4-21 with four folks total.

Beer poured light brown with a nice white head with the original pour.

Nose was very nice, full of vanilla and cinnamon that mellowed the super toasty base production beer.

Taste was very well rounded with the additional spices. Toasted malt base receives the vanilla and cinnamon adjunct very nicely. The back end is nicely hopped and balances out the adjuncts for a rounded finish.

Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied and smooth.

Overall sometimes extra adjuncts are not good for a brew but in this case it was well done! Definitely the table favorite for the group.
