Picked up a single from the Ingles on Highland Lake Road in Flat Rock on 1-16-24 for $2.00. Canned 12-7-23 consumed 5-12-24. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured dark brown with an awesome long-lasting head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is nice, has notes of coffee and coconut.

Taste is a mild roasted malt base that accepts a strong dose of coffee nicely. Coconut adjunct is layered in nicely as it is a fairly bold amount added. Finishes adequately hopped and with the coffee balances the sweetness out nicely.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and fairly smooth.

Overall, another quality beer from highland that i would have again.

12 oz can with a canning date of 18 September 2023 stamped on the bottom.

Appearance. The body is dark brown, nearly black and opaque, with a durable, frothy, tall tan head.

The aroma suggests a strongly hopped, unrefined, coffee beer with some coconut. The flavor, however, is excellent and has a balanced blend of coffee, coconut, dark roast, and dark chocolate notes.
Smooth, full bodied ale.

Dry, dry, dry. Finally, something without a bunch of sugar added in. I cannot describe it any better than CBlack85, so look at their notes. All I can say is thank goodness it’s not sweet. I like this beer.

Edit, a month later: I fucking love this beer

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a New Belgium Globe glass.

The beer pours black, with ruby highlights and about 2 fingers worth of dense khaki head that slowly recedes, leaving behind an impressive amount of sticky lacing.

The aroma is coffee, coconut, mildly roasted malts and hints of chocolate, vanilla, and a bit of floral hops.

Mildly roasted malts, coffee, coconut, and just the slightest bit of hop character make up the flavor of this beer. The malt profile is very mild for as dark as it is, not much in terms of roastiness, must be the Midnight Wheat. Medium/light bodied and mildly carbonated. Slightly slick on the toungue and very easy to drink.

Overall, this is a decent beer, but it could be so much more... the jury is still out on the Midnight Wheat for me
