A: Pours a dark brown with just a touch of highlights when held to light. The tasting room was pretty dark, so it may have actually been a bit lighter than it appeared. A modest light tan head sat on top briefly and then settled to a thin film and ring. Minimal lacing.
S: Nice amount of roasted barley, some chocolate, coffee, caramel malt, and a touch of earth in the background. Really good smelling that suggests a good bit of complexity for the style.
T: Follows the aroma quite well. Roasted barley and coffee up front with the chocolate and caramel maltiness in the background. The earthiness that I smelled doesn't really show up in the taste.
M: Medium bodied with a good bit of carbonation. Smooth and creamy on the palate. Just a touch of a drying effect after each sip.
D: Really tasty porter and very easy to drink. I had to go back for a second after the tour.
