Enjoyed at the 3rd Annual Black & Blue. Thanks brawleys!
A - hazy, dark copper/ruby with thick eggshell head; some web-like lacing
S - marshmallow, wood, mild honey
T - very mild and mellow; flavor almost seems thinned a bit from normal version; vanilla, herbs, wood, some light bourbon throughout
M - on the thin side but nice, rich carbonation for a cask; slight drying finish
O - light and almost refreshing for a bal- winter warmer. i thought there was something lost in translation though and i don't think the treatment added much. still not bad by a long-shot. definitely worth a try.

Served from cask into a Black & Blue III shaker. Poured a reddish brown with a minimal off-white head. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, coriander, wood, sweet alcohol, and spices. The flavor was of sweet malt, oatmeal, wood, sweet alcohol, and subtle spices. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a fairly good brew. I saw this one on the list and was pretty excited about it if I am honest. However, the barrel did make itself known quite well. Almost too well... It wasn't overpowering, but it did cover up a lot of the subtle flavors and aromas that makes the base brew great in my opinion. Still a very solid brew that I suggest you get on your palate if you get the opportunity. Tick.
