750 mL bottle. BBE 30/03/2027.
Appearance: 4. Golden yellow with a fluffy white head, and a small amount of lacing.
Smell: 4.5. Coriander seed, cumin, white wine, crusty bread, mango, pineapple.
Taste: 4.25 Slightly fruity flavour with light malts, slight acidity, light hop bitterness and mild astringency. Minimal to no hop funk. Well balanced like a dry white wine. Lingering mild bitterness.
Feel: 4.25. Light body, with moderate carbonation.
Overall: 4.25. An excellent blonde ale - light, understated, and well balanced.

Pours a beautiful pure orange, with a thin white head. Fairly muted on the nose. On the tongue, grapefruit, pineapple and peach, with sweet hops carrying the finish. No sign of the 7.9% ABV, completely smooth feel. Festively spiced.

Caged bottle. Light misty amber with a medium thick creamy head.
Light spicy and fruity esters when smelt.
Sweet flavour. Mild caramel with hints of banana. Some lime discerned.
Low carbonation and a bit sticky.
Pretty well close to style. Hides it's strength really well.

L- Mid amber, pours clear with a 2cm small-bubble white foam cap (holds well).
S- It's mild for me, I just get a bit of that Belgian estery-spicy yeast.
T- Hmm, it's better than anticipated. When I saw on the front lable mention of Sorachi Ace and Eukanot (hipster) hops I almost didn't buy it - it's rare for me to pass on a new beer, unless it's without doubt hipsterised beyond redemption! Add to that the lable stating 'Lemon, Tropical Fruit, herbaceous' and I was ready for a contemporary fruit cocktail. Yet no, I'm not getting that. I get a solid flavour, big body and some bright hoppy under-current.
F- The meatiness and ABV% of this beer help rein in the hipster possibilities here. It's a high ABV% beer but very drinkable.
O- Much better than anticipated. In summary it's like a Belgian Blonde, mostly trad just with the hops brightened up somewhat, but not so much to offend the tradsters out there.
£4 for a 750ml of 7.9% in a fancy caged+corked bottle seems like a good deal. I'm glad I didn't leave it on the shelf. BB: 16/02/2025
