There's something about having a beer from a 75 cl bottle with steel cage and natural cork...
This one was sold in Sweden in the Easter beers-segment.
A: Pours deep copper, a bit darker than other Biere de Gardes I've had earlier; but lovely. The off-white medium-large head is compact, but sets rather quickly into rich lacings.
S: Clean malt, a bit metallic (as many other Biere de Gardes). Fruity, sour and yeasty. Grass and nettles.
T: Light and malty, semi-sweet and perhaps just a tad roast. Lots of fruits. Sour and yeasty. Spices are dominated by white pepper.
M: Aftertaste lingers with sour as well as bitter notes. Body is light to medium while the carbonation is quite strong and offensive, almost sizzeling in my mouth.
O: A Biere de Garde is a complicated beer-style to appreciate. It's is so mellow but still complex, this time it didn't make me scream out load.
