A solid offering from the folks in lyndon.
went over the mountain for pizza on saturday night and decided that i would review one of their 7bbl draft only offerings. these always seem to be the mark of their quality, rather than the 20bbl production bottle brews.
While i'm not sure that this is a genuine vienna [as the color is a bit pale for the style], the yeast character, hop profile, mouthfeel, and drinkability are all right on.
pours a golden orange - resembles the complexity of an all light munich brew [and i wonder if maybe he used all vienna malt and decided to call it vienna lager...?] a head that quickly left the glass...could have used more retention, but artificial carbonation will do that. good carbonation and an aroma that seems to be typical of malty lagers: sweet, subtle hop presence...draws you in and makes your mouth water in anticipation. the taste was malty goodness. dan is a maltophile and his smaller batches always make this apparent. solid full body for a lager - sweet malty taste balanced appropriately with german nobles... i liked it so much that i had them refill my growler with a half gallon of it. i could drink this beer all night long...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
