This beer has always been more of a staple of what I've come to enjoy at Brutopia. No, it's not gonna win your heart with it's looks, but it has something comforting about it's subtly sweet, and warm flavors.
Definitely worth having a pint or two before making it back home for the night. Cheers!

Brutopia "Honey Ale"
On tap at the brewpub, 5 Octobre 2014
Notes: Clear amber body beneath a white head of froth. Head retention is limited but lacing is OK. The aroma is clean, displaying malt and honey. It's sweetish but not too sweet. Welcoming. The flavor follows with some caramel character and a moderate bitterness. The honey is clear. It remains balanced, despite a leaning towards sweetness. I'm not sure how else you could make a honey beer as I think a touch of sweetness is needed. And they've kept it together. I'm not sure I'd want a second pint, but the sweetness remained at bay, and it never became sticky or cloying. Nicely done!
