Had on tap. Hard to see through the beautiful dark brown body and sudsy khaki head. Nose has two tales to tell: one is very sweet dark fruit, especially plum, with caramel, licorice, and a whisper of creme brulee, the other is a palate of burnt toast, ash, earth, and some booze. Thankfully the sweet tones win out slightly in the nose. But then the taste, yeesh. The burnt hair side wins here, woof it is a struggle to finish this one. Feel is bittered and thinned by the robust burnt notes, otherwise lush malts are pleasant.

On cask at the Monk's Table for Barrel Bragging Rights, into a sampler tulip. Collaboration with Crystal Luxmore of The GridTO.
Dark brown/opaque mahogany with a light ring of head. No lace or retention really. Nose is fruity, caramel, earthy, saccharine and lightly woody. Sweet dark fruity malts dominate. Taste is sweet, fruity, earthy, caramel, burnt sugars, some figs/prunes with very mild woodiness. Slightly heavier than medium carb, and full mouthfeel. A good scotch ale, but I wasn't overwhelmed as others were by this.
