Tried at the Stiegl brewery during a short trip to Salzburg/Munich in Dec 14. The brewery is apparently recognizing the importance of keeping up with the craft beer movement. Although touted as an Imperial Alt aged in what were first cognac, then rum barrels from Martinique, I really didn't pick up any of those flavors. Instead I just tasted a nice, hearty Alt beer with a fairly high alcohol content. I trust Stiegl will continue to experiment with these sort of beers and I'm excited to see what they come up with for 2015!
