Appearance - gold color with a tangerine hue. Soapy head is on the sticky side and laces thickly.

Aroma - grainy, slightly sweet/buttery aroma, a touch of soy.

Taste - good robust malts, turning sweeter at mid-palate.The swallow brings a mild hop drying and bitterness along with a light but detectable alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel - solid feel in the mouth, lightly crisp, the flavor lingers nicely behind without feeling drapy.

Drinkability - I could do a few bottles of these. A clean and flavorful bock.

Poured from a one pint .9 fluid oz bottle.

Appearance- Pours a finger and a half head into my big Family Guy mug. Color was an appealing mix of copper kettles and burnt orange peels slightly hazy all around. Had a decent film on surface of beer.

Smell- Perfectly toasted wonderbread.

Taste- The tongue is covered with liquid white toast. The malts eventually give the light hops a little breathing room. The end is toast with a bitter jelly.

Mouthfeel- The palate felt a bit unbalanced, but the finish was crisp and a little chewy. Not bad.

17 oz bottle pours a clear peach tinted body with a lot of bubbly carbonation going on in the glass. Small offwhite head quickly drops to a soapy film and leaves minimal patchy lace.
Aroma is mostly sweet malts, with caramel, brown sugar, and molasses. A note of spicy noble hop and a hint of dark fruits compliment the maltiness.
Mouthfeel is very nice. Satiny, with a light medium body and moderate carbonation.
I love the taste of this Austrian bock. Crisp with carbonation, excellent balance of sweet caramel and Munich malts and spicy hop. Some red apple fruitiness unexpectedly appears in the middle to add another yummy note.
I really like the taste of this one. Excellent balance and drinkability. I could have a few of these at a sitting.

From a 17 ounce bottle, this beer pours a clear golden-amber color with shades of orange. The head is initially frothy and white, but soon dissipates. The aroma is appropriately malty, and very welcoming. It’s a little doughy, with a graininess underneath. Not bad at all. There’s a nice sweetness, but also a slightly metallic taste that’s a little distracting. Medium body and relatively low carbonation. There’s a little more hop bitterness in the finish than I think is necessary, but the balance isn’t bad. All in all, it’s a tick above an every-day beer, although it’s not a standout. This is a pretty good bock.

This bottle comes to me via a friend via a roadtrip we made from Wisconsin back to Georgia. I think he picked up a couple of these in Indy, and I netted this bottle after helping him shove the engine of a 300SEL 6.3 back into it's proper place back in October.

Pours a pale golden color with copper highlights, topped by a white head about a finger's width thick that drops down fairly quickly. Light chill haze, and even a couple floaties. No matter, that which does not kill...

Light straw aroma, hint of butter, and a wisp of alcohol. The straw aroma just beckons me to dive right in and take a sip, promising that it's all golden and sunny on the other side. I guess I'll oblige.

Flavor is clean and smooth with Munich malt rolling across the tongue like a rollercoaster. The hops are earthy and herbal, but very faint. The scent of straw carries through into the taste, with almost a sweet hay flavor nestled underneath the residual sweetness.

Mouthfeel is solid and hits the tongue with force, refusing to budge. Don't let this pale bock fool you, it's no palate pansy. Carbonation seems low, which is what I think gives this impression, and the bubbles tickle the back of the tongue moreso than the front and sides.

Overall, I'd rate this as a decent session bock. It's not spectacular, but it won't beat your palate into submission. It has it's good points, nothing particularly bad, and light enough to drink a couple over the course of the evening. If anything, this beer suffers from being too plain, rather than just simply bad.
