Enjoyed from the bomber in a Rhinegeist snifter. Pours a cloudy thick burnt orange color with a moderate white head of foam that dissipates to a very thin ring with little lacing. Nose of caramel malts, heavy citrus hop notes of pineapple and lemon zest, heavy bitter hop notes, and fresh baked bread aromas as well. Flavors explode with heavy sweet caramel malts colliding with citrus flavors on all sides. A heavy bread characteristic is present in the mouth feel and lingers with the bittering piney hops in the back. A solid brew with a coating, thick, and very slick mouth feel and light to mild carbonation. Good double IPA with a good malt back bone with plenty enough alcohol to go around.

Found this 2012 bottle at my local shop and picked it up. Pours a very hazy, ruddy orange with minimal to no head or lacing. Aroma of oranges was all I could detect. Yeasty and bready flavor with orange/citrus notes. Very effervescent and bubbly on the tongue, a bit boozy as well. Decent.

A: Pours massive beige, compact and thick head at first, the the hazy copper liquid rises as the head settles. Nice lacings.
S: Rich caramell malt, somewhat sweet together with bitter and floral hops, American style. Rich fruityness; pineapples, grapefruits, ripe oranges and apricots. Some chocolaty notes in the back.
T: Complex in taste; rich, almost syrupy sweet caramell malt (actually - the same sweetness you can find in a Doppelbock), then there is the bitter hops! Floral hops are a bit more mellow copmared to the smell, but still very obvious. The same fruits as in the smell.
M: The body is very thick and full, almost like drinking whipped cream. Low carbonation and a rather long (kernel-) bitter aftertaste.
O: A very nice surprises. Obviously they can brew proper DIPA in Austria!
