This was one of their seasonal offerings. It was served in a standard pint. The beer is dark brown with red highlights.
There is coffee and roasted malts on the nose.
The taste starts well with coffee, brown sugar and heavily almost charred malts. Unfortunately a sour taste emerges that may signify a flaw or an old beer. I have never experienced this at this pub, so it was a bit of a surprise given the excellent quality of their brews.
The mouth is a bit thin and maybe over carbonated. I would like to try this one again to see if the flaws are in the recipe or the age of the beer.
