A bronze tinted, unfiltered Northwest IPA. This beer is brewed with several varieties of malted barley and hops producing a decidedly hop forward India Pale Ale while not being shy about its toasted malt profile. Our take on this style interweaves German caramalt, American toasted malt, and more than a handful of Northwest hop varieties imparting floral, citrus, and stone fruit aromas.

Poured in the champagne glass, color is a clear golden dark amber. Plenty of foam and nicely carbonated. Aromas of grapefruit, leaf mold, pineapple, wet weeds. Quite sweet. Orange peel is the first flavor with a deep herbal taste that lingers not entirely pleasantly. You could call it dank but the sugar content puts it into another realm.
Aftertaste makes me think of seaweed plus a dose of astringent bitterness. However, the whole thing is kind of interesting and I keep reaching for another small sip. A lumbering Labrador of a beer, smelly and insistent, but somehow likeable. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Market of Choice in Eugene.

22 oz bought at JCs Thriftway in Newport OR. $4.99. Under the name of McKenzie Brewing. Pours a slightly darker burnt orange than the usual IPA, with a nice sized, creamy, frothy off white head. Woah great aroma to this one! Great wafts of herbal, floral hops with equally appealing honey caramel malts..really like this! Taste is nice too but quite balanced between the honey malts and hops..very pleasant drinking. Good mouth feel its lowish carbonation and smooth on the tongue. Did not think this would amount to much but this is a really nice PNW style IPA

Served on tap into a shaker glass.
A- Poured a clear dark orange color with white fluffy head that left webbed lacing.
S- Very light aroma of mild fruity fruity notes and soapy.
T- Dominant flavors are soapy and indistinct fruity notes, light citrus hop notes, and moderate bitterness.
M- Some warming, medium body, pretty dry, and prickly carbonation.
O- A pretty average to mediocre IPA that is overly malty.

Appearance is auburn with an off-white head leaving light, sticky lace.
Smell is sugary sweet, orange and tobacco, really leafy, off-putting.
Taste is heavily candied citrus hops, orange marmalade, the malt sugars really amplify it. Modest bitterness. Not as leafy as the taste, but still to raw.
Mouthfeel is oily, medium light bodied.
Drinkability isn't too high, the, flavor profile just isn't working for me.
