341 ml bottle served in 16 oz pint glass.

Agressive pour yields nothing more than some large soapy looking bubbles that quickly disappear. Colour is black; red hues can be easily seen when held up to a light.

Smell is quite faint, seems to be a mixture of fruit and/or hops? and roasted malt.

On first taste, I'm immediately hit with a sour note. I do get some roasted flavours eventually, but a sour fruitiness remains. I like it, but it seems somewhat out of place. Hops show up in the aftertaste and linger for awhile.

Mouthfeel is thin and watery with almost no carbonation. Seems sorta lifeless.

This beer is an accidental "ice" version of their Black Cat Lager. It's been awhile since I've had one, but I don't remember it being quite like this. An interesting one-off brew, but not worth making again.

341ml bottle poured in a pint glass. This is really a kind of eis-schwarzbier as it was a batch of Black Cat that got frozen accidentally.

Black, almost opaque, but just letting a hint of light through. Beige head is 1/4 inch on the pour, and settles to a ring around the edge.

Aroma is similar to Black Cat, roasted malts with a touch of char and sweetness.

Roasted malt is more up front than the regular Schwarzbier with a hint of char. The malt/burnt is joined in the middle by hops that play in and out. Finish is mildly bitter with a light burnt background. Aftertaste is roasted malt with a light sweetness.

Light-medium bodied with little carbonation. A touch stronger than the Black Cat results in a bit more bite.

A unique beer that is solid, but lacks the complexities of it's Paddock Wood cousin Black Cat.
