1L plastic bottle with a screw-top cap. Actually looks more red than brown. Never seen a red beer bottle before. Generic bottle with a sticker on the side stating the type of beer and "Brewed On:". Nice to see this date on the bottle, mine says Aug 01. Poured in a mug.
Straw yellow in colour and hazy. Lots of streams of carbonation. Foamy white head is 1/2 inch high, but quickly recedes to a thin ring around the outside. Head is completely gone by mid-glass.
Aroma is really grainy and somewhat sour. There are also hints of sweetness and fruits. A very different smell, but the sour character detracts.
Taste mainly grainy from top to bottom. There are some sour tinges and alot of acidity, but mostly this reminds me of cardboard box. There is a nasty formaldehyde taste that pops in every couple of sips that really turns me off.
Mouthfeel is watery, thin and fizzy. Blah.
This really isn't very drinkable. I had half of my 1L in a mug, then dumped the other half down the drain. I know they serve this with a slice of lemon in the bar. Do yourself a favour, suck on the lemon and throw the beer out.
What more can I say? This could be considered a crossover beer, but it's worse than most macros on the market. It's never been a favourite of mine and I don't know why they continue to make it. Avoid.
