Poured out of a growler into an imperial pint.
Despite a messy pour, color is a nice deep brown with a decent 1.5 finger head. Retention is somewhat lacking, and there is no lacing.
Smell is caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
This is a pretty sweet and definitely spicy beer. The roastiness of the malt comes through with a huge flavor of cinnamon and nutmeg. There is a slight (very slight) hop bite that makes this one quite nice on a cold night (or as cold as it gets in FL anyway).
The mouthfeel isn't slick but it seems to be lacking for a beer with such a big flavor,
Overall, I would say that this is a pretty solid offering and certainly better than some of the Monte Carlo's other offerings. I would get it again if I lived in Las Vegas.
