2L plastic bottle with a screw top cap poured in a pilsner glass. Got this as a part of a Christmas present from my brother-in-law.
Pale gold in colour and a little hazy. White head is 1/2 inch at the pour but recedes to a thin ring. Lots of big carbonation bubbles on the sides of the glass after the pour, but it slowly clears up to just a few streams of big bubbles.
Aroma is sweet and fruity with background of grains. Plums and raspberries seem to stand out to me.
Fruity and lightly sweet and a hint of tartness. Almost a sparkling grape juice quailty to this. Off-dry finish like a semi-dry wine yet the aftertaste is grainy and tart.
Light bodied and fizzy. Quite a bit of carbonation, like a sparkling grape juice or a really cheap sweet champagne. By mid glass it seems a little watery.
This really reminds me of sweet sparkling wine. There is a definite grape or berry flavour with a touch of tartness and lots of carbonation. Unfortunately, I'm not a big sparkling wine fan so this doesn't really turn my crank, but it is what it is and as far as that goes, it's not too bad.
