Maguire's Irish Pub & Brewery

Located in a back corner of the Grosvenor Park Centre shopping mall at 8th Avenue East and McCool Avenue, they had a long, wide front with a center entry. Passing through the vestibule, there was a gaming area to the immediate right with a line of upholstered benches fronted by high tables and Captain's chairs left. Further aft, right, were a bunch of high tables and chairs with the heavily varnished club-shaped (think of the suit in cards) bar on a slight left oblique. The "Guinness Snug", a semi-private area of standard tables and chairs ran along the left windows, facing. Also left, up a pair of short steps was a carpeted area with a fireplace, bookshelves, and five standard tables and chairs. Continuing aft, right, a flight of three steps led up to a comfy seating area with four booths, two wingback chairs, and two couches. I'd probably fall asleep sitting in them. On the extreme right was their game room, with two (2) English dartboards, two green-felt pool tables, several video games, and more seating along the right facing window.

Beers: Lots of guest taps. As an auslander, very few of them were familiar to me, which might have been enticing if this were solely a beer bar, but as a B/P, I was focused on the house-brewed beers.

O'Cool's Pilsner; Harvest Wheat Lager; Celtic Cream Ale; Seamus Stout; Fiddlers Nut Brown; Erin's PA; Strawberry Lager; Red's Ale.

Pilsner was a bit thin. Erin's was pleasantly bitter.

Off-sale license for those so inclined. I asked for a list of beers upon arrival only to be handed one just prior to leaving. Ugh!
