Didn't even know these guys bottled so I was pleasently suprised when I saw this on todays beer mission.
A - Pretty clear golden lager colour. Poured into a stemed pilsener glass with a couple of centimetres of frothy white head.
S - Grainy up front, with a bit of a swirl the slightly floral and grassy saaz comes out to play.
T - A bit of sweet grain with a light grassy hop touch.
M - Pretty light bodied with a medium to high carbonation.
D - Not a beer to rave about - just a decent, refreshing pilsener.

Very challenging version of the Pilsener. Not for every one. Most average lager drinkers would find the diaceytal unpalletable but I think it's great. Good nose, nice hop bitterness and malt butterscotch balance. Bright and golden. Worth the trip to the Gong.

Tried at the Australian Beer Festival in the Rocks, 1st October, 2006...

Light pale yellow gold colour. Not a great deal of head. Some decent carbonation. I don't know why, but it looks tangy.

Nose is quite resinous with the vegetative saaz aroma, but to be honest a little underdone. I was told this was done with "lots of Saaz", but I certainly think it could have done with a bit more.

Taste is very clean and fresh, without being particularly full. Hints of midpalate bitterness, but otherwise just clean and smooth.

This was good, without wowing me. To be perfectly honest, it was probably one of the best, cleanest drinking lagers I've had in a long time, but it didn't knock my socks off.

Tasted this at the Australian Beer Festival, 30 September 2006, along with the Longboard Wit, and Bulli Black.

Excellent. Simply excellent. For mine, this was the beer of the show.

Fantastic combination of pilsener malts & Saaz hops, without the funky/skunky/sulfur notes so often evident in the imports. Crisp finish, balanced bitterness, emphatic flavours.

I believe this is to be available in bottle soon. Bring it on.
