A: Pours a dark brown with a good sized dark khaki head. Good airy head retention with quit ea bit of splotchy lacing.
S: Spicy rye immediately in the nose. Toasted bread as well, in spades.
T: More of the same. Lots of rye, in fact it tastes a lot like rye whiskey. I'm not sure if this is barrel aged, doesn't say anything about it. Anyway, rye whiskey and toasted/burnt bread up front and in the middle. Turns very dry in the finish and almost got a tiny bit of tartness on top of oakiness. Interesting.
M: Fairly mild body, very dry.
O: Interesting brew. I'm not sure if this was intended to be slightly tart but it definitely is. I can't find any info about it, even the brewer's website is down. It's a mild brown ale with a big, dry rye whiskey flavor on top of it.
