2020 vintage

Beautiful deep scarlet jewel tone when held to the light, lasting pink foam.

Aroma of Schaarbeekse cherries, like cinnamon-laden cherry pie.
Taste is all cherries, with a slight lemony tang from the base lambic.
Rich, fully ripe cherries that have a lot of savory depth, reminiscent of Danish cherry wine.
Medium bodied with a lighter spritzy feel, finishes very dry.
Overall this is excellent, still very fruit forward and vibrant after a year.

A 750ml corked and caged bottle, 2020 vintage, with a best before date of 15th April 2040. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A slightly hazy deep ruby red with a purple tint, and a big three finger pinkish head that dissipated fairly quickly, while leaving only sparse lacing.

Aroma: Citrusy lemon zest, cherry, tart, with slight marzipan notes.

Taste: Lightly sweet and sour, tart, cherry, almond, marzipan, oak, lemon zest and lime.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Very easy to drink with great aroma and flavours. Despite having a best before of 20 years, I preferred this fresh.

Bottle: Poured a hazy bright red color lambic with a huge bright pink color head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart cherry notes is pretty intense with some oak notes also perceptible. Taste is dominated by huge flavours of fresh cherry notes with some tartness, oak and light acidic notes also perceptible. Body is full with good carbonation. Great cherry lambic and one hell of a fruit to beer ratio.

2015 corked and caged 750ml poured into a couple wine glasses. The brew appears deep red in color with a pink stained head.

Nose is funky earthy and slightly phenolic akin to plastic and medicinal aspects.

The taste is sour and minorly medicinal but not in a distracting way. Its earthy, grassy, herbal and bitter into the aftertaste.

This is medium in body with modest carbonation. Its decent but im a little let down as this was on the more expensive side (even by schaarbeekse standards) and I heard nothing but amazing things about it. Unfortunately it doesnt pop more than standard kriek.

Green corked bottle from 2015 poured and split between two glasses. The look is hazy dark red with a fizzy pink head that fades, also some spotted lacing when consumed. Taste is straight cherry jam with some oaky notes. Vanilla, earth, funk, and tart punch the palate. The feel is jammy and full, also effervescent. Overall I dig this beer and I will seek more from this brewery.
