holy cow, what a treat to encounter this one in the wild along with the smoked tea one, two of the most distinctive lambics ever ever had, and i am just obsessed with these experimental ones right now. nothing special about the pour, hardly holds any head, looks not very bubbly, and has some haze to its dull orange body, but the aroma and the flavor are punchy and fresh and even kind of shocking. ive never had the salted tangerine peel this is made with, but now i want to, both elements are strong in aroma and flavor, the tangerine somehow fresh rather than dried to me, sweet for just a second and bringing out the wheat in the grain base to my palate, and the salt makes everything pop in here, especially the tangerine and the oak, this seems almost more mature because of it, especially woody, not sure exactly what the story is with the base lambic in terms age or blending. bretty and weird and wild as always, hospital floor, bleach and iodine, wet horse and barnyard rot, zesty fresh orange, enough salt to be drying and it adds to the sourness too, heavy mineral profile, drying like it almost makes me thirsty, major umami, so odd but so compatible with the base beer and so well dosed, im just blown away by it. equally pungent in aroma and flavor, so thoughtful and artful and good. slow moving and lighter than im making it sound to drink, i could have had a few of these. beersel always hits with the strange ones, green walnut remains an all time favorite, and now this one and the smoked tea as well, some of the very best of all time for my money. if you are a lambic nerd, you cannot afford to miss these!

Draft at Sleeping Village by Buzzy.
Bright orange, sharp clarity, minimal foam, thin ring.
Aroma is citrusy with some barrel complexity, wet wood and lambic funk. Little bit vegetal, parsley or celery.
Taste is mellow and tart, oaky and citrusy up front. Easy drinking, slightly carbed naturally like a cask ale. Very smooth, light tannic oak in the aftertaste.
Overall this is a nice lambic infusion, the salted tangerine peel dovetails perfectly with the base lambic.
