Dark, meaty brown to black with a soft, thick, beautiful cocoa-chocolate milk head. LIght baking chocolate aromas, roasted malts, scorched candy sweetness. Light coffee bean bitterness. Roasted coffee and malt up front. Evolves into sweeter more chocolatey on the palate with background roasted bitterness. Finish is sweetish but checked by bitterness. Milky, medium bodied. Yum!

Really decent stout, not thick or rich on the palate by any means, on the more subtle side of the scale. Some nice pooey/hay aromas, with the tandard coffe/roast choc aromas. If i read my notes correctly some wood/bark in there aswell. Toasty/roasty and relatively dry on the palalte. Medium bitterness, tasty, if a bit thin.
By the way, why is this listed as an American Stout? Definitely more English to me.
