The Family stopped into Cape Ann Brewing yesterday (22AUG15) for lunch after a pleasant whale-watch. I had a couple of servings of this new DIPA, @ 8.50%ABV and 95 IBUs. Served in a small, slender flute at $5.50 for 10oz.
It was a hazy, cloudy golden color, with a bit of carbo meandering upwards slowly. Head was a nice, 1/4" layer of lasting, creamy whiteness, with solid lacing on the glass. Had a lovely aroma of sweet fruit, like apricot, along with some piney citrus. Feel was quite smooth, and body was more than medium.
Had some more sweetness here, with apricot and tangerine hitting the palate first. That mixed well with some rindy grapefruit and pineapple, making for a nice balance of sweet and bitter hopping. A solid, A-1 DIPA! Had the road ahead, else I'd have had more.... Prosit!!
