Unretired and somewhat reformulated. Here's the description from the brewery's website:

5.3% ABV, 31 IBU’S

Throughout history, oysters and stouts have been a considered a perfect pairing. Oyster Stout takes this classic combination further with our own version of a style whose history has been lost in time. Using hundreds of crushed oyster shells in our mash, the result was a roasty stout with a rich body and smooth mouth-feel to go with it’s unique flavor and aroma.

MALTS: PILSNER, CARA-PILS, CHOCOLATE, ROAST, FLAKED BARLEY

HOPS: NUGGET
XXX

I ordered a pint on tap at Sea Level in Salem, MA. Poured thick, nearly opaque black with a tiny brown cap of a head. Smelled very sweet, smooth, and roasty. If you had told me it was a milk stout, the aroma would have led me to believe you.

Tastes delicate, very nicely made. Dark roast barely up front, moving into a wonderfully thick middle of barley and semi-sweet chocolate. Ends with more chocolate and a hint of surprisingly alpha-heavy hops. The exceptionally smooth body is its greatest attribute.

Found this limited brewing on tap at the Gloucester brewpub. It's a dark black coffee color with a meager light brown ring on top with zero lacing. The aroma is sweet smoke and molasses and barbeque raisin. A little weak but intriguing. The flavor is more of the same, brown sugar and dry citrus hop but the flavor is largely killed by the unusually thin constitution of this fizzy beer. It seems close to coming out but it is so wimpy that it just sort of fizzles down your throat leaving little for the palate to enjoy. Drinkable perhaps but not highly desirable. Still, not a bad experience either. Worth trying if you enjoy the style, but after having had Harpoon's recent 100 barrel series effort at this same brew, wow, what a difference. Nothing to sink your teeth into here.
