First beer of the night at the new brewpub. Saw this interesting sounding beer on the menu and decided that's the one to start with. Served in a normal pint glass. Not much head or lacing. Looks a bit thin. Wonderful smell of coffee though, so that perked things up. Taste was more coffee than anything else, with that slight bit of minerality from the oyster shells coming at the very end. Mouthfeel was decent for a stout, but not too thick. It's a weird combination of coffee and oysters, but it worked in the end. I had a sample size taster of the regular oyster stout also, and you can really taste the difference the coffee filtration makes. It masked some of the "oyster" taste, and added a whole new layer of flavor. Worth a try if you are adventurous.
