Brewed with our house habanero sauce, this medium bodied stout starts out smooth and finishes with a crisp spicy bite in the back of the throat.

Dark black with a light tan head with good retention.
Aroma: Roasted, marshmallow, faint chocolate.
Flavor: roasted, the spiciness is there but i didnt notice it until I was half way done. Its subtle but good.
A bit thin, although it is a 4.5%

Good looking stout; decent head and retention.
OK roasty aroma with a nice spicy kick.
Very spicy brew (habanero, it turns out, and it comes through). Not as spicy as Habanero Sculpin, but easily the second most spicy brew I've ever had (far more so than, say, Bomb!).
Not near enough roast to carry the spice, though. This brew would be delicious with a stronger backbone of roasted barley and chocolate malt.
Feel is fairly thin and oily, even at room temperature.
Not at all a bad beer, and the spiciness is significant and nice. Just a beer that could be so much better, instead of mostly being a gimmick.
Listed as "Chile Stout" and clocking in at 4.5% on the Cape Ann Brewing website.

On-tap 1/12/2014 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub, in Pawtucket, RI served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a large foamy beige head that fades slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains chocolate, roasted malts and a hint of chili pepper.
T: The taste starts out with a hearty roasted malt character and flavors of chocolate and coffee. Then a strong sting of chili pepper heat quickly follows. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. However, after a few sips this beer is all chili pepper.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, it’s a decent beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style along with the chili pepper heat.

Dark brown color where light shines through the sides. Beige head that settles to a single layer of bubbles. A bit of blanketing lace.
Dark, bitter chocolate aroma. A bit of mocha and cream, too. Attractive and inviting.
Coffee start to the flavor. The chocolate I smelled is virtually missing. The chili shows up strongly in the swallow as if I were eating hot Buffalo wings with this. Long, spicy aftertaste. One complaint to an otherwise interesting brew is the thin body. This is very thin, beyond watery. The carbonation is fine.

This beer pours a dark coca cola colored black body with a thick off-white head.
Nose is mellow with some mild and milky chocolate and dark sweet malt smells.
Taste is very smooth and almost milky. Malt is dark, but very round and very smooth. An absolute classic milk stout at first. Then this really nice mild numbing chili pepper taste comes forward. There's heat and flavor, but it's just this slow burn that sits ever present in your mouth and in every sip, without really burning you. It's such an odd thing to describe. It's like you get the after effects of eating a hot pepper, without ever eating one. The interesting thing about this beer is the farmouse yeast. It's just this tiny little twist that gives it a mild funk and yeasty flavor, but only barely peaks through. It's just so well balanced. The biggest kicker is that this beer is only 5.6% ABV, so it's a perfect session beer you could drink all day. Apparently they actually use the same habanero peppers they use in their pepper sauce they serve at the tables (or possible, the sauce itself). I love this place. Hops are completely hidden, and although it says they use cascade in this beer, if it's there, it's only there for balance This beer is all about the milky stout and chilis.
I've enjoyed Cape Ann's beers over the years, the Navigator is fabulous, however find most of their main offerings to be very middle of the road. (not to discount their high ABV pumpkin stouts or barrel aged strong ales) This beer however takes it a completely different level. An American milk session stout brewed with Belgian farmhouse yeast and habanero peppers. This beer is hands down my new favorite from Cape Ann.
