Sampled on-tap at the Maisel Keller in Bamberg during the bockbieranstich on September 29, 2005.

This bockbier poured a clear, light coppery amber color with white foam that settled. The smell was lightly malty, but improved as the beer warmed. The taste was malty with a touch of Munich malt and a light sweetness and a relatively low hoppiness. The mouthfeel was smooth and relatively clean with medium-to-medium-full body and good carbonation. It was warming. The malty flavor lingered on the tongue in the aftertaste. This was a dangerously drinkable beer, and though I was told it was 9% ABV, I have my doubts, but I am sure it was >6%.
