This traditional English style brown ale is smooth as silk, boasting a sweet caramalt finish. A rich chestnut color, our Antler Brown Ale is mildly hopped. One of our most popular beer over the years, Antler Brown won a gold medal at the Atlantic City Beer Festival and a bronze medal at the World Beer Championships. Try Antler Brown with hearty foods like sausage, burgers and steak. It’s also great with a wedge of sharp cheddar.

DATE TASTED: January 1, 2015... GLASSWARE: Victory nonick... OCCASION: New Year's hosting--a good start to the year.. APPEARANCE: dark mahogany body; quickly thinning, off-white head; reasonable tracing like archipelagos... AROMA: rather earthy and peaty, almost like a porter in its brackishness; some sugary notes too, but otherwise, understated... PALATE: flat, heavy, medium-bodied; mildly effervescent and filling; slightly oily...TASTE: hints of toasted of some caramel, and muted hops; toffee is at the finish--subtle but enjoyable... OVERALL: a serviceable brown that drinks smoothly from the growler; indicative of of the genre but not outstanding...

A: Dark brown in color a slight transparency, almost no head at the top just a little off white crown, very minimal lacing.
S: There was not a lot going on with the nose, very slight caramel nose, and a little brown sugar as well, the nose was very simple.
T: The taste was like the nose, subtle nothing crazy, slight hints of caramel, and brown sugar.
M: Light bodied, slight carbonation, slick mouthfeel
D: A subtle beer, nothing crazy, very easy drinker, not a terrible beer was just bored by it.
