Brewed with pale, crystal, chocolate, roasted, black & bisquit malts & finished off with East Kent Golding hops from England lends a classic stout profile.

On nitro-tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a thick light tan nitro-y head. Aroma of chalky, roasted malt and cocoa. Flavor is initially pretty good--sweet malt and chocolate. The nitro actually works for this beer. Eventually, though, the sweetness starts to buildup and cloy.

Poured a deep black hue with a one and a half finger creamy tan head. There was very good retention and good lacing.

The smell featured a faint burnt grain with a hint of coffee.

The taste consisted of a moderate burnt grain, some coffee noted and a bit of smoke. Good coffee aftertaste.

The mouthfeel was a bit thin for the style, but slightly chewy.

Overall a tasty stout that hit the spot after a cold day of skiing.
