A Belgian-style summer favorite, Iron Arm has subtle fruit tones of banana. Served unfiltered with an orange wedge, this is fun in a glass. Iron Arm’s refreshing flavor pairs well with a crisp summer salad, as well as salmon, crab cakes and shrimp.

Flavor: Smooth, with subtle tones of banana
Malts: English Pale, Aromatic, White Wheat
Hops: Saaz
Bitterness Units: 5

Date tasted: June 16, 2013... Glassware: willibecker... Occasion: Father's Day #6--spending it at the brew pub at the suggestion of my wife--what could be better?... Appearance: sunshine orange juice hue with a cloudy, opaque body--appropriately garniushed with an orange slice... Aroma: rather stoic for a wheat/wit; not much beyond some banana and orange... Palate: smooth, drinkable and not too complex--not a bad attribute on such a pleasantly warm day... Taste: tart, malty base with a moderate citric introduction; like a harder hefeweizen, but the malt is surprisingly displacing the wheat... Overall: had to wolf it down to prepare for the meal's beer accompaniment, but the fact is the beer was made for that purpose--little aftertaste or protestation from the Iron Arm...

A Belgian style ale brewed with large amounts of wheat malt and flavored with all natural orange peel, coriander, and cloves for a fruity/spicy twist on a refreshing and drinkable beer. Served with an orange slice on the glass and available year round at the brew pub.

A: It is a nice light amber color withe a nice clearity

S: Has a floral smell to it with a little bit of fruitiness

M: it has a nice mouth feel, a little rough on the tongue, but it is a pleasant feel

T: it has a very mild and bland flavor that falls flat. However, when you add the orange that the beer comes with it changes. The orange helps bring the mild flavors into forward.

O: This is a nice wheat beer, I will enjoy having it again when I go back

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear light orange with a white head. Aroma of melon rind and malt. Not very aromatic actually. Flavor of odd malt--very cereal like (rice Chex is my closest guess). Sweet and odd, but still somewhat drinkable. Definitely nothing like a classic witbier though...
