I had the pleasure of stopping in this great little brewpub again on my way through town everyday while I was away. Said that they only had one of their own on tap the whole time, it was still a decent, and different take on the style so never the less I enjoyed it each day. Served on tap into a ten ounce glass. This one was first consumed on 10/09/2008.
The pour was not at all what I was expecting. Much darker then a normal pale ale, this one was served as a medium amber lager looking color. A nice and very foamy head sat on top and settled down gracefully into a rich, lacey, crown that hung on for what seemed like forever.
The aroma was a mixed bag. Nice light and grainy yeast mixed with some caramel malts and a touch of some earthy, euro like hops thrown in for good measure. The flavor was unlike a blond ale I had before, with a rich malt driven flavor, caramel and hints of bready textures mixing in and around a light fruity body. Hints at a more mellow and subdued mid palate just ran away with a somewhat dry and light finish. Nice and light bodied with a decent carbonation level, it was easily session able at the 4% abv that was listed for it.
Overall I was not blown away by this though I would definitely say that it was decent. Needs a little refining though as it was not crisp and flavorful enough for the style. Still though a nice effort and a solid beer.

This one was lighter bodied than the pale ale and even less in the hops. The flavor was a light straw malt with a slight hint of grassy hops. It's a little too sweet to qualify as crisp, but not bad. Clear, bubbly light gold body. It was relatively enjoyable but ultimately unexciting.
